5.5 Fresh and waste water systems

The fresh water system on your boat provides you water for the everyday use. The waste water system handles the grey water and the black water produced on board.

The fresh and waste water systems have each their own plumbing and tanks.

  • The fresh water system provides water to the shower on the bathing platform and to the tap in the toilet compartment. You can operate the fresh water pump with the Shower pump button on the battery main switch panel.

  • The black water from the toilet is collected into the waste water tank. You can empty the waste water tank when in dock.

  • The toilet operates electrically or manually, depending on your choice of equipment. The electrical toilet uses fresh water for flushing, and the manual toilet uses sea water or lake water for flushing.

  • The holding tank under the toilet collects the grey water from the sink. The automatic grey water pump empties the grey water holding tank directly into the water through the hull opening.

When you leave the boat unused for a longer period of time or store the boat over winter, the fresh and waste water systems will build up bacteria and impurities, or will freeze in cold weather. Before you leave or store your boat, empty the fresh and waste water systems and tanks and flush them with fresh water.
