5.1 Electrical system

The electrical system of your boat is powered by the battery which is charged by the engine. The electrical system covers your power needs onshore and offshore.

Risk of electric shock, fire or explosion.

Remember that water and electricity are a bad combination.

Let only a competent marine electrical technician carry out any installation, alteration or maintenance work to the electrical system.

Battery main switch panel

  • Main switch
    The battery main switch is located on the main switch panel of your boat. The main switch cuts off the power supply from the battery to the engine and to the electrical equipment on your boat.
  • Fuses
    The fuses for the 12 V battery power are located on the fuse panel and on the main switch panel.
  • Batteries
    The battery on your boat gives 12 V current to power up the engine, the lights and the electrical equipment on your boat.
